Beaches
The principal attraction is the beaches. Jetty Beach is close to the Marina and Coffs Harbour Jetty extends from this beach. Protected by the breakwater makes for calm swimming conditions. Park Beach is the main beach. Boambee Beach to the south of the Jetty Beach is an open beach. North of Park Beach are many other beaches Diggers; Campbells; Mid Sapphire; Moonee; Shelly; Emerald and Sandy Beach.
Big Banana
The Big Banana, on the Pacific Highway is about ten minutes walk from the Park Beach Plaza . The big banana is the symbol of Coffs Harbour . Behind the Big Banana is a theme park. You can toboggan, skate, and try the “World of Bananas” with a Banana Plantation Walk, and theatre that explains how the banana industry works.
Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Gardens are reached from the older part of the city.
Clog Barn
Also near Park Beach Plaza , but this time in the direction of the old city centre, is the Clog Barn where there are free clog-making demonstrations. Holland Down under is a meticulously constructed model Dutch village. Located at 215 Pacific Highway (02 6652 4633)
Coffs Harbour City Gallery
Coffs Harbour City Gallery was established in 2001. The City Gallery presents a diverse programme of historical and contemporary exhibitions designed for the enjoyment and education of the community of Coffs Harbour and outlying regions. Rigby House Coff Street 02 6648 4861.
Coffs Harbour Butterfly House

Coffs Harbour Creek Walk
Starts at Coff Street and ends at Englands Park .
Coffs Harbour Historical Museum
History of the area and a model of a banana plantation. Located at 191 High Street .
Coffs Harbour Jetty
Built in 1890 with BBQ facilities on the foreshore. Walks to the jetty from Jetty Beach .
Glenreagh Mountain Railway
Travel on the restored train “Betty” on the first weekend each month.
Legends Surf Museum
A display of classic boards located at Gauldrons Road
Nambucca
Nambucca has an attractive main street includes a wide variety of stores, cafes, restaurants and banks.
Coffs Harbour Marina
The Marina is walking distance from the station and includes the Fishermen's Co-op. From here a causeway leads to Muttonbird Island , where there is a walking track.
Orara Valley
A relaxed country area with pubs and the rural communities of Orara, Coramba, Lowanna, Ulong, Nana Glen and Glenreagh.

Sawtell
A cosmopolitan seaside village with Moreton Bay Fig trees and gardens. The seaside village of Sawtell is a haven of small, local shops selling everything from aboriginal art to recycled quality clothes. Shaded by massive Moreton Bay fig trees, Sawtell's First Avenue is also packed with top-class restaurants and cafes. The colourful garden dividing the main street is home to Morton Bay fig trees that protect and shelter this cosmopolitan seaside village. Sawtell has a beach.
Solitary Islands
The Solitary Islands are north east of Coffs Harbour and are a marine park. Good for diving and lots of dolphins, turtles and whales.
The Orara Valley
This inland valley offers drives to the rural communities of Upper Orara , Coramba, Lowanna, Ulong, and Nana Glen. Pan for gold at George's Gold Mine.
Valla Beach
Quiet beaches with rainforest at the back.
Waterfall Way
A drive up the Great Dividing Range to Armidale. Bellingen on the way to Dorrigo is an old village main street. Dorrigo sits on the edge of the Great Dividing Range and to the east of the town is the Dorrigo National Park with world heritage listed rainforests. The “sky walk” let's you walk high among the trees. To the north of Dorrigo is Danga falls which plunges over a 40 metre escarpment and a good place to picnic.
Whale Watching
Whales can be seen from June to October from Scotts Head, Woolgoolga Headland Hungry Head and other high points along the coast. Cruises are popular so book in advance.
Woolgoolga
Woolgoolga to the north of Coffs Harbours is influenced by the Sikh Community with the temple and Indian architecture. When you see the stunning white domes of a Sikh Temple you're in Woolgoolga, 25 kms north of Coffs Harbour . The Woolgoolga Headland has good views
Natural Areas
Bongil Bongil National Park
South of Sawell a park with picnic spots and high forest. Good for canoeing along the creeks in the park.
Bruxner Park Flora Reserve
Just north of Coffs Harbour is Sealy Point Lookout with views along the coast and walking tracks.
Muttonbird Island
Just beyond Coffs Harbour Marina is Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve. Good for whale watching between June and October and for shearwaters from November to April. There are no trees on Muttonbird Island but is a nesting site for wedge-tailed shearwaters. The eastern side of Muttonbird Island has views out to sea.
Coffs Harbour Shopping
The Park Beach Plaza just off the Pacific Highway in Coffs Harbour is the largest shopping centre. The Palms Shopping Centre in Coffs Harbour 's city centre also contains Coles, Australia Post and Big W. Close to the Jetty area is the Promenade shopping and restaurant complex. The Jetty Village Shopping Centre is a small shopping centre with a bakery and a small IGA supermarket. The Jetty Markets are a craft and produce market held under the Jetty Village Shopping Centre every Sunday.
